Sony Ericsson has announced four new handsets. These are targeted at developing markets and customers who are on a tight budget.
Sony Ericsson T270
Sony Ericsson T270 has a bar shaped phone and has a 1.7" 65K TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The internal memory is 10 MB but there is no card slot to allow expanding it. It also has Java support, Bluetooth connectivity and FM radio with RDS. It does not have a built-in camera, though.

Sony Ericsoon T280
Sony Ericsoon T280 is completely identical to the T270 except for the additional 1.3 megapixel camera.
Sony Ericsson T270 and T280 will be available in two colors - Silver on Black and Copper on Silver. It will be available in selected markets from Q1 2008 but there is no information on pricing as yet. Both the phones measure 100 x 45 x 13 mm and weigh a mere 82 grams.
Sony Ericsson R300 Radio
Sony Ericsson R300 Radio is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone. It has a 1.8" 65K TFT display, a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a VGA camera. It has a radio which offers AM and FM frequencies as well as RDS. It has 8 MB of built-in memory and will weigh as little as 75 grams. Bluetooth is also present for wireless data transfer.

Sony Ericsson R306 Radio is the only clamshell among the four models. It is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone with AM/FM radio with RDS, a 1.9" 65K color display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. It will also have a secondary monochrome screen, sporting a resolution of 96 x 32 pixels. Sony Ericsson R306 Radio will feature 5 MB of internal memory and will have stereo speakers to enhance the radio listening experience.
Sony Ericsson R306 will be available in Coffee Black and Champagne White color colors. while the R300 Radio will be available in Antique Copper and Steel Black colors. Affordably priced between Rs 3,500-5,000, Sony Ericsson R300 Radio and R306 Radio phones will be available in the Indian market in Q2 of 2008.
