The Q1 Tower in Queensland, Australia is the world's tallest residential tower. The Q1 Tower has a height of 322.5 meters, 526 apartments, 11 lifts and has a site area of 12,660 sq.m. The design inspiration for the Q1 Tower was the Sydney 2000 Olympic Torch and the Sidney Operahouse. The name Q1 was given to honour Australia's 1920 Olympics sculling team. Q1 also refers to Queensland Number One.
However the Q1 Tower will soon lose it's title of the world's largest residential tower when the D1 Tower currently being constructed in Dubai gets completed in 2009.
