Dell has launched the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook which weighs only 2.3 pounds, has a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor, 8.9-inch glossy LCD (1024x600) panel, 1 GB of RAM and a 16 GB solid-state drive.
Other features of the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook include, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA out, an ethernet jack, an SD Card slot, and headphone and mic jacks. Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel Webcam; both are extra-cost options.
Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook will be available in two colors, Obsidian Black or Alpine White. Users can choose between Windows XP or Ubuntu 8.04 operating systems.
The Inspiron Mini with Windows XP Home is available immediately at the price of $399. The $349 Ubuntu version is only available for pre-order.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Notebook will be competing against Asus's 8.9-inch Eee PC 900 notebook for $550.
