Samsung has announced the SCH-W300, also called the UFO phone. It is an HSDPA cellphone with a blazingly fast 7.2Mbps download speed, which means an MP3 file can be downloaded in 4.4 seconds.
The SCH-W300 is just 12.9 mm-thick, has a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and transportation card function and has built-in DMB-TV reception.
It has a 240×320 px QVGA display and media player with MPEG4, H.263, MP3/AAC/WMA support.
The name UFO means ‘Unimaginable, Fast speed and Oh, 7.2Mbps’.
Samsung UFO is available in Magic Silver and Black Pearl to start with, and Violet and Sapphire Blue to follow.
Samsung UFO will be available initially in Korea, with a suggested price of below $630 (about Rs. 25200).
