Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan who was supposed to be celebrating his 66th birthday, instead, was hospitalised to the dismay of his adoring fans on Saturday. Although the doctors did not give details to the media, Abhishek Bachchan, said his father would spend at least 72 hours in hospital.
As soon as the news spread, a large crowd of fans and well wishers gathered outside his residence and Lilavati hospital. Many of them were seen praying for his speedy recovery.
As per reports Amitabh Bachchan is suffering from abdomen pain, caused due to either hernia, appendicitis, diverculitis or viral gastroenteritis.
Amitabh Bachchan had in fact just returned on Friday evening after shooting for the movie Teen Patti. After reaching his residence at Jalsa, he began experiencing dehydration and a slight pain in the stomach.
In 2005, Amitabh Bachchan had been hospitalised for nearly two months due to abdominal pains while he was in Delhi and which was later diagnosed as diverticulitis of the small intestine.
