Samsung has launched its new fully touchsceen phone called Instinct (SPH-M800), exclusively with Sprint.

With a full touch-screen interface and large 3.1-inch 240×432 haptic touch display, the screen features localized tactile feedback - called haptics - allowing you to sense the QWERTY keys as you type (which is missing from the iPhone).

The Instinct also has a Voice to Action button that offers many functions to be undertaken using voice activation including call, text, picture messaging, traffic, movie, sports, news and search.

It has a 2.0 megapixel camera with camcorder expandable microSD memory of up to 8GB, Bluetooth integrated world clock, SMS voice and text messaging with threaded text and picture caller ID, corporate and consumer (POP3) email and multitasking capabilities that allow the user to play music in background mode while surfing the Internet, texting or playing games.

Other features include Visual Voicemail that allows users to listen to messages in their order of preference and manage them with a simple tap of the screen. It measures 2.17 x 4.57 x 0.49 inches and weighs less than 4.5 ounces.

The Instinct comes with two standard 1,000 mA batteries that offer up to 5.75 hours of continuous talk time each; a battery charging sleeve; a travel charger; a USB cable; 3.5 mm headphones with a built-in microphone; and a leather case with a stylus.

The Instinct will be available with all Sprint retail stores by June 2008.

While pricing of the Samsung Instinct has not yet been determined, Sprint said it would cost less than $300. The cheapest iPhone model currently costs $399, while the iPhone model with additional storage reaches just under $500.
