Motorola has launched the MotoRokr U9 in India with the company's brand ambassador Wyclef Jean handing over the first piece to Miss India World 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan.
The new phone has features such as a 2-inches QVGA 262K TFT internal screen; 2.0 mega pixel camera with 8x zoom, multi-shot feature, video capture and playback; up to 25 MB user memory which can be extended to 4GB using an optional microSD memory card; messaging capabilities via MMS, SMS, Push Email; easy transition from phone to music and back again; Microsoft Windows Media Player 11; integrated music player that supports multiple audio file formats; USB 2.0 for speedy transfers and data access; etc.
It also includes the CrystalTalk technology for increased clarity during calls and Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology allows users to experience wireless mobile stereo. The U9 supports Motorola Setup, Backup, and Text which can be used for the easy installation of Internet browsing.
The unique Music ID function enables consumers to recognize the song they are listening to, including the artist and album information of the songs. All they need to do is - capture the music being played on the handset, later the application sends this information to a server by using GPRS to match the song with its existing library, and then the information is transmitted back to the user.
MotoRokr U9 offers a talktime of up to 430 minutes and a standby time of up to 350 hours. It comes in a metallic gloss finish and weighs just 87.5 grams.
Motorola U9 will be available in two versions; the Deluxe Pack, which includes a 1GB microSD card is priced at Rs 10,000.The Premium Pack priced at Rs 15,000 includes a 2GB microSD card along with Bluetooth Rokr S9. The U9 will be available in the Indian market by the end of May at all leading stores.
