Sony introduces Camcorder with 100 GB Hard Disk

Sony has introduced its latest Camcorder - HDR-SR5C, which includes a built-in 100GB hard drive and is capable of capturing high-definition video. It is also has 10x optical/80x digital zoom and Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens.

















One of the features includes capturing photos while also recording video using the Dual Record Mode. It is also equipped with the 2.1 Megapixel (Gross) ClearVid CMOS Sensor with 1990K (effective) pixels providing stunning detail and clarity with good video (up to 1080 lines of horizontal resolution - HD; 530 lines of horizontal resolution - SD) and still image performance.

The lenses have an advanced optical multi-layer coating for increased contrast for true renditions of subtle tones. The HDR-SR5C will record in Dolby Digital 5.1ch surround sound with a built-in microphone. It is equipped with a 2.7-inch Wide (16:9) Touch Panel LCD Display.

By increasing the record rate from 60 fields per second (fps) to 240 fps for 3 seconds it will allow users to capture 3 seconds of fast motion and play the video back in 12 seconds. The NightShot Infrared System can record subjects from up to 20 feet.

While recording video in High Definition (HD) users will be able to capture a 2.3 Megapixel (16:9) still image (2016 x 1134) directly to Memory Stick.

The HDR-SR5C will start shipping on or before July 9, 2007. No price details are available at present.
