Tata DoCoMo has become the first private Indian company to launch 3G services in India with the announcement of its 3G tariff plans. Tata Docomo 3G services have been launched in all the 9 circles for which it obtained the 3G license i.e. Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra-Goa. All plans are effective from November 10 in the above mentioned 9 circles. The plans start from Rs. 500 up to a maximum of Rs. 2000 a month.
To start your 3G experience, you can go for the Data Top Up plan of of Rs. 90 which allows 100MB use at 21 Mbps for one week. For 30 days top up, the plans are:
Rs. 200 top-up with 200MB usage at speed of 21Mbps
Rs. 500 top-up with 650MB usage at speed of 21Mbps
Rs. 2000 top-up for unlimited usage at speed of 21Mbps up to 15GB download, then the speed drops to 128 kbps.
A video call would cost 0.66 paise per second is about 40 paise/minute.
Voice and Data Plans for Small Screen:
These plans are for 3G enabled smartphones and are available in both pre-paid and post-paid.
There is also a special pre-paid plan for Rs. 350 which includes 500 minutes of local and STD, and 150 MB of data, with validity of 30 days.
Unlimited 3G Life Plans:
Those users who want blazing fast speeds but do not want to worry about download limits can check out their Unlimited 3G Life Plans.
Under the Unlimited 3G Data Card Plan for Rs. 2,000 users would get 15 GB of data usage at a speed of 21.1 Mbps and beyond 15 GB, usage would be free but with reduced speed of 128 kbps.
Airtel will roll out their 3G services by December, while Vodafone is expected to launch in Jan 2011.
