According to media sources, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani's 14-year-old marriage is on the verge of collapse and a divorce is imminent. Azharuddin, 47 years old, is said to have developed an interest in badminton player 26 year old Jwala Gutta who is ranked World No. 7 in mixed doubles.
Jwala Gutta is currently married to Arjuna Award winner badminton champ Chetan Anand, but they are estranged.
Reportedly, Azharuddin has even gifted her a BMW car, in which Jwala rides in around Hyderabad. Azharuddin and Jwala have been seen leaving together many times from Pullela Gopichand’s academy where Jwala practises. And whenever Azharuddin is in Hyderabad, he and Jwala stay at the same hotel.
